January 28 - INGENUITY

the eighth day of Freedom

"I am looking for a lot of men who have infinite capacity to not know what can't be done." Henry Ford

Today, the pool has created new patterns out of the surface water lying on top of the winter tarpaulin. Perhaps as inventors, artists, and co-creators of our lives, it is more important to remain ignorant about what we can't do, than to know what we can do. My biggest obstacle to reinventing myself is my limiting or negative thought processes that get in my way. If I could stop doubting my ingenuity or creative powers, I would then simply proceed, knowing I could do anything I chose.

Today is the day of Ingenuity, but every day at the pool is a day of inspiration.

I watch ice turn to metal,
By the alchemy of heat
Through craft and ingenuity
The pool performs her feat.

Does today's photograph prompt you to create something new? Is there a part of you that steps in and says: "I couldn't do that"? A good reply to that self-doubting voice is: "Just watch me!"
