Education & Music Library

Sask Music Collection
The Saskatchewan Music Collection (SMC) features recordings and sheet music which have a Saskatchewan connection, i.e., composer, performer, or subject matter. It consists of mainly popular music, encompassing country, folk, ethnic, pop, rock, alternative, rap, etc., and includes Aboriginal music, religious music, and music by school and community groups. The SMC complements our course-based U of S holdings in classical music and jazz. All items in the collection are available to browse in the U of S Library Catalogue.  Sask Music

Physical Access

The SMC is located in the Education & Music Library, which is on the second floor of the Education Building on the U of S campus. This is a research collection and may be used within the Education & Music Library only. Facilities for viewing or listening to the collection are available in the Library.lection

Digital Collection

The University of Saskatchewan Library is engaged in an ongoing project to digitize the contents of the Saskatchewan Music Collection (SMC). The Library seeks to make these unique materials available for educational and research use by providing online access to the collection. Digitized audio and images from the collection are made available in the SMC Digital Collection.

Donations of Saskatchewan musical material are encouraged and welcomed.
