SciFinder Scholar is a client/server product. Users must download SciFinder client software to their desktop (see instructions below) or access it on Learning Commons workstations in the University Library (Murray Library, Natural Sciences Library and Health Sciences Library).

Downloading Software

SciFinder Scholar™ 2007 for Microsoft Windows 2000 (SP3 or higher), XP (SP1 or SP2), or Vista

1. Download file and save it to a temporary folder. (~12.2 MB self-extracting executable.)
2. Before running the installer, close all Windows applications.
3. Run sfs2007.exe to install the SciFinder Scholar software. You can do this by:
   • Double-clicking it in Windows Explorer (or My Computer)
   • Choosing Run from your Start menu, typing in the full path to the file, and clicking OK
4. Follow the prompts to complete the installation, but noting
   • At the "Do you have a disk labeled Custom Site Files" dialog box, select NO.
   • After installation completes, download the file and save to the c:\sfschlr folder (or whichever folder you installed SciFinder into).
   • Optional: Download the SciFinder Scholar 2007 Getting Started Guide (PDF File in English)

1. Download file
2. Move the file into the Applications folder and extract.
3. Optional: Create a "SciFinder Scholar" alias for your dock or desktop.
4. Optional: Download the SciFinder Scholar 2007 for Mac OS X - Getting Started Guide (PDF File in English)
