Croner-i CHEM-BANK (HSDB, OHMTADS, RTECS, TSCA, and LINKS)
DescriptionA suite of databases covering potentially hazardous chemicals: HSDB, OHMTADS, RTECS, TSCA and LINKS. It is regarded as "the leading single source of data on thousands of potentially hazardous chemicals." It also includes graphic images for chemical structures for over 15,000 substances provided by the University of Akron, Akron, OHIO, USA.
Access Note: Search defaults to ALL CHEM-BANK databases. Narrow your Substance Search to one or more databases by clicking on Clear All then making your selection.
  • HSDB (Hazardous Substances Data Bank) -- Contains comprehensive information on over 5,000 hazardous substances, including coverage of significant human exposure, environmental fate, toxicity (including ecotoxicity), standards and regulations from the US National Library of Medicine. [details]
  • OHMTADS (Oil and Hazardous Material, Technical Assistance Data Systems) -- Contains data on over 1,400 materials designated as oil or hazardous materials. [details]
  • RTECS (Registry of Toxic Effects of Chemical Substances) (formerly known as the Toxic Substances List) -- Contains identification and toxicity data on over 168,000 chemicals. [details]
  • TSCA (Toxic Substances Control Act) -- Inventory of information on over 65,000 chemicals manufactured in or imported into the US for commercial purposes. [details]
  • LINKS -- Contains links to external resources which supplement the substances databases within the CHEM-BANK suite. [details]
