Google™ Scholar Beta

DescriptionGoogle? Scholar is a Google's web search tool that focuses on scholarly literature, including peer-reviewed papers, theses, books, preprints, abstracts and technical reports from all broad areas of research. It covers both open access and commercial content. Google? Scholar is still in Beta test mode.

The Library has enabled its full text holdings and FindIt! (the Library's OpenURL linking service) service in Google? Scholar. Search results display the following University of Saskatchewan Library links in result citations (sample search):

  • FindIt @ UofS Library - Links to the University of Saskatchewan Library's Advanced FindIt! menu with alternate services (including print holdings) when an online full text target is unavailable.

NOTE: To enable FindIt!/SFX on your home computer:

  • On the Google Scholar page, select "Scholar Preferences".
  • In the "Institiutional Access" box enter either usask or saskatchewan then click the "Find Institution" button. The page should come back with "University of Saskatchewan Library" selected with a checkbox. At this point, just click the "Save Preferences" button.
