Internet Library of Early Journals

A digital library of 18th and 19th Century journals
DescriptionA digitized collection of 18th and 19th Century British journals. A joint project by the Universities of Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester and Oxford, conducted under the auspices of the eLib (Electronic Libraries) Programme, to digitise substantial runs of 18th and 19th century journals, and make these images available on the Internet, together with their associated bibliographic data. Currently includes 20-year runs of the selectec titles. The project finished in 1999, and no new titles will be added.

Includes: Three 18th-century journals: Gentleman's Magazine (1731 to 1750), The Annual Register (1758 to 1778), and Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society (1757 to 1777), and three 19th-century journals : The Builder (1843 to 1852), Blackwood's Edinburgh Magazine (1843 to 1863), and Notes and Queries (1849 to 1869).
