Books:
You may search our catalogue, identify books of interest, and then request the books in any of the following ways. The simplest method is to use our Online Book Request Form. Requesting Books or Journals Not Owned by the
U of S

Sometimes you will come across books or journals not owned by the U of S Libraries that you feel would be useful to your project. These can be ordered on your behalf from another library. Simply submit your requests for books or journal articles using the Interlibrary Loan Request Form. Please keep in mind that turnaround time will be longer because of the ordering process. If you have a Medline or CINAHL accession number, or source from which you found the citation, please include it. It makes the ordering procedure much faster!

Delivery of Books and Articles

Library books and photocopied journal articles will be mailed to your home address. Library books may be returned in person, or through the mail using an enclosed post-paid return label. There are no charges to off-campus patrons for this service.

Returning Books

Books owned by the University of Saskatchewan Library:

Your books will arrive with an enclosed, prepaid addressed label. Should you lose this label, please return your books to the following address:

Interlibrary Loans/Off Campus Library Services
Health Sciences Library
University of Saskatchewan Library
Room B205 Health Sciences Building
107 Wiggins Road
Saskatoon SK S7N 5E5

The loan period is five weeks from the check-out date. This includes 2 weeks for delivery/return; 3 weeks for use. Please be aware that fines will accumulate for overdue material.

Books owned by other Libraries:

The due dates for books borrowed for you via Interlibrary Loan are determined by the lending libraries. Your due date will be recorded on a paper sleave attached to the book. Do not remove this sleave from the book. Please ensure that the book is returned to our library by your due date by mailing to the above address. We will return the book to the lending library for you.

Turnaround Time

Please be sure to allow time for library staff to locate, photocopy and mail your items to you. Count on approximately a week between the time our library receives your request and the time you receive the material. Our busiest times of the year are from October to early December, and mid-January to March, so you should allow more time during these peak periods.
