Assistant Dean (Client Services) Rachel Sarjeant-Jenkins

Rachel started at the University Library as Assistant Dean (Client Services) in the fall of 2010 to lead the planning, coordination and development of services to library clients delivered through the seven branch libraries. Working in close collaboration with the branch heads, Rachel focuses on the client experience – customer service and library marketing, library instruction and education, and the library as a physical and virtual space; she believes strongly in the role of the University Library in supporting and advancing the learning, teaching and research of the students, faculty and staff at the University of Saskatchewan.

Rachel was the Chief Librarian of the Medicine Hat Public Library from 1999-2010; prior to that she was librarian for the Centre for the Study of Co-operatives and head of a public library in England. She has been actively involved on provincial and national committees and believes in the strength of libraries when they work as a community with a consistent message.
