Charlene Sorensen joined the University of Saskatchewan Library in 2006. She is a Distinguished Graduate of the University of Saskatchewan (B.A. Honours) and received her Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Western Ontario. Charlene’s professional experience includes work with Health Canada and the National Research Council.
In her current role as Assistant Dean (Services to Libraries), Charlene provides leadership and direction to Collection Services, a unit committed to user-centred, evolving and transformative strategies to create, collect, organize, deliver, make findable, and preserve information resources; and the Indigenous Studies Portal (iPortal), a virtual library and research tool which connects faculty, students, researchers, staff, and members of the community with full-text electronic resources related to the interdisciplinary field of Indigenous Studies.
Charlene’s program of research focuses on best practices in serials management, user access to serials collections, and the dynamic nature of electronic resources.
