Shortly after my arrival in Saskatoon in mid-2006 to take up my position as Dean of the University Library, it was pointed out to me that advancement opportunities for the library were limited. These surpirsed me, so I enquired "why?"
The answer was that the library does not have any students; students graduate from colleges.
My response to this is that the University Library (through its seven branches and our extensive electronic holdings) supports the learning, teaching and research endeavours of the University community and every graduate from the U of S is therefore a graduate from the University Library. No student graduates without their library. Therefore, your gift to the University Library is a gift to the ENTIRE U of S community!
Our work is undertaken in an increasingly dynamic information environment and the University Library Strategic Plan sets out ambitious new directions for the library in its second century of development.
We hope that you will join us on our journey to transform the library's resources, facilities and services. Relationships and engagement are at the heart of our transformation and your support is essential to our success.
