It takes approximately one week between the time we receive your request and the time you receive the material. Start your research early in order to receive your materials in a timely fashion.
Library books and other physical items will be mailed to you. Articles are delivered digitally, accessible through an email link.
Books arrive with a postage-paid return label, plus one or more extra return labels if multiple books are shipped. The extra Bill of Lading labels are only needed in the event that a book is recalled.
Should you lose a label or need extras, please contact us. Materials may also be returned in-person to any University of Saskatchewan Library branch.
The loan period is generally 44 days from the signout date, allowing 30 days for use and 7 days at either end for delivery. Borrowers are allowed two renewals, providing that no other requests have been placed on the title. Interlibrary Loans (ILL) are generally three weeks.
Please note that materials from the Reference Collection, Reserve Room, and Special Collections are not available for loan. Theses and dissertations do not circulate in most cases. Some journals do not circulate. In the case of journals, we will send digital copies (pdf) of the requested articles by email link. There are no photocopying charges for Distance & Distributed students.
It is important to note that all borrowers are guaranteed a loan period of 7 days, after which the material is subject to recall. Please be aware that overdue recalled material fees are $2.00/day/item. The Library will send all communication to your official University of Saskatchewan email address. See the Email Policy for more information.
