Safe Study at the Murray Library

During Safe Study, the ground floor of the Murray Library is open after the rest of the library closes for student study space.  The Safe Study program is a partnership between the USSU and the Murray LibraryMurray library exterior at night and is available to students of all colleges.

Safe Study Hours for Winter Term 2017 

Sunday - Thursday  11 pm to 1 am
Friday - Saturday 9 pm to 12 am

24 Hour Safe Study will begin on March 29th and run until 8:00 am on April 27th (with the exception of Friday, April 14th, when the library will be closed for the statutory holiday).

Safe Study Information

Access to the space after normal library hours is restricted to students bringing their current U of S Student Card

Safe Study can accommodate up to 200 users and operates in association with the ‘Student Crew’ and other USSU programs, including the Safewalk program. Students from all colleges are welcome to use Safe Study and the Learning Commons facilities in the Murray Library.  Available in the space are:

    • 8 Bookable group study rooms
    • Quiet study room (Room G3)
    • Individual and group seating
    • 18 Learning Commons computers
    • 2 Alumni computers
    • 1 public access Internet only computer 
    • Black and white printer
    • Wireless Internet access
    • Electrical and data outlets
    • Phone charging station
    • Photocopier/scanner
