Final exams are coming, but don’t let stress get the better of you – Take a Break at the University Library. There will be Play-Doh, crafts, puzzles, LEGO, board games, music, and more for you to relax and have fun with. The library branches hosting the Take a Break spaces are the Murray Library, the Leslie & Irene Dubé Health Sciences Library, the Engineering Library, the Education & Music Library, and the Science Library.
All of the seven libraries on campus will be giving out snacks, generously donated by the Alumni Association. You may even see some Alumni volunteers wandering through certain libraries, handing out treats. There will also be visits from our four-legged canine friends from the PAWS Your Stress program, and the Library Peer Mentors are planning an afternoon of fun with games and prizes. There’s lots to do, so don’t miss out on your chance to de-stress in the library!
Visit the Group Study Lounge in the Education & Music Library from April 6th to 24th for Play-Doh, crafts, and music. There will be snacks and popcorn available throughout the exam season. On Monday, April 13th from noon to 3 pm, St. John Ambulance's therapy dogs will be visiting so that you can "PAWS your stress".
Join us in room 102 of the Murray Library (on the first floor, across from the stairs) weekdays from April 13th to 30th for Play-Doh, puzzles, LEGO, paper crafts, drawing and music. There will be snacks and popcorn available throughout the exam season, and volunteers from the Alumni Association will be visiting and handing out snacks. On Tuesday, April 14th from noon to 3 pm, St. John Ambulance's therapy dogs will be visiting so that you can "PAWS your stress". And on Thursday, April 16th from 1 to 3 pm, the library's Peer Mentors invite you to play "Game On: Spin, Toss & Stack" to win prizes and eat cake.
Running out of time to study? Don't worry! The Murray Library's 24/7 Safe Study program means that you can stay on the Ground Floor of the library all night long if you need to.
Have some (quiet) fun in the Science Library from April 13th to 30th with our Play-Doh and puzzle stations. Can you create a masterpiece? There will also be juice available throughout the exam season, which has generously been donated by the Alumni Association.
Visit the Engineering Library throughout the exam season for snacks and popcorn. You may even see volunteers from the Alumni Association who will be visiting and handing out snacks. On Wednesday, April 15th from noon to 3 pm, St. John Ambulance's therapy dogs will be visiting so that you can "PAWS your stress".
Come to room 1430, just inside the front doors of the Health Sciences Library, from April 20th to May 1st for puzzles, board games, Play-Doh, drawing, and more. There will be snacks and popcorn available throughout the exam season, and volunteers from the Alumni Association will be visiting and handing out snacks. On Thursday, April 23rd from noon to 3 pm, St. John Ambulance's therapy dogs will be visiting so that you can "PAWS your stress".
Check out the Stress Less During Exams page to keep up to date with all the activities happening around campus during exams. Our friends the Peer Health Mentors and the USSU are planning some fun as well.
Starting on Monday, March 30th, the Safe Study program will be available 24/7 until the end of final exams. Please note one exception - on Friday, April 3rd, the library will be closed for the Good Friday holiday. Other than that, the ground floor of the Murray Library won't lock its doors until April 29th.
During Safe Study, the ground floor of the Murray Library stays open after the rest of the library closes for student study space. The Safe Study program is a partnership between the USSU and the Murray Library and is available to students of all colleges. Only current students with a valid student card will be allowed in. Members of the USSU's Student Crew patrol the area, ensuring a safe place for all. Available for use are the Learning Commons computers, printer and photocopier, as well as the bookable group study rooms.
