Search Help

To search the Veterinary Medicine Bibliography, just enter your search terms in the query box and press the enter key or click Submit.

You may enter one or more terms, or keywords, in the query box. The default for keyword searching is to AND terms together, but OR may also be selected as an alternative. The third option is phrase searching which searches for the terms you have entered exactly as entered.

There is no truncation function so terms must be entered fully.

After clicking Submit, you will go to the results page where the bibliographic records are displayed. Click on "Bibliography" on the grey navigation bar at the top of the screen to return to the Bibliography home page at any time.

Quick Search retrieves records by searching selected fields for the keywords you have entered. The searchable fields are author, title, subject, publisher, and notes.

Advanced Search includes the keyword searching option as well as searching in fields that you specify. Fields are automatically combined with AND. To search an author's name, enter the last name (no initials, no punctuation). For title searching, enter as much of the title as you know. Subject searching allows you to search for titles from specified categories in the bibliography. Use the pull-down menu to select one subject at a time. Subjects may also be searched from the Browse by Subject link.
