What I need is a place to keep notes, lots of notes. I may use the to do lists if they're dead simple and blazingly fast to set up. I definitely want reminders for birthdays etc. but my Outlook calendar is still my preferred place for appointments.
Remember the Milk looked great at first -- all one could ask and more. The notes area is small and on the right sidebar. Voo2do's mental model of tasks didn't work for me. Just too many steps/clicks for the way I wanted to use it. I was very optimistic about Backpack and it was definitely very intuitive and had great features but I hit the the "free" ceiling very quickly into my test run and I'm not ready to commit to paying for this tool.
So far Zoho Planner has my vote but it's neck and neck with Remember the Milk with a half dozen more tools to try.
Here are some quick notes on tools and features.
