Have you ever wanted to remove a directory or page from the Google Search engine? Google has had a tool that you let you do this but now you can do so faster and with finer control. Just login to (or set up a) Webmaster Tools account.

The Official Webmaster Central Blog spells out how to remove a:
  • page
  • directory
  • entire site
  • cached copies

They have also provided some ways to request removal of content that you don't own with the other webmasters permission and in some cases without permission if "search results ... contain specific types of personal information, you can request removal even if you've been unable to work with the site owner."

They have also provided a dashboard to monitor the status of your removal requests.
