Google Mashup of Aerial Photo Collection
McMaster University Library started with their collection of 5,000 aerial photographs of Hamilton added some creative thinking, tossed in a Google Map mashup and created a very nice online index to the collection. They replaced several print indexes and helped their visitors explore this great collection on two dimensions: geospatially and over time. For any given year, visitors can zoom in, out, pan left, or right, switch to satellite view of hybrid view of the map, see local landmarks and streets as well as specific details about each photo in the collection.
