Twitter: A Way to Put a Bigger Foot in One's Mouth?

On my first day of trying twitter, Steve Lawson pointed to Steve Rubel's "Open Letter: A Lesson Learned Twittering". Words spoken in the spur of the moment can flow far and wide and have unintended consequences. Context is critical.

So the question is to Twitter to friends or to anyone? Talking off the cuff is one thing, making it easier for burglars and folks up to mischief is another. You have to be "twittersmart" just as you're "street smart" as digital and real worlds collide.

Since Steve Lawson is cautious about who gets to read his twitters, the link is useless for anyone who's not already getting them. (Just a note.)

Walt is right - Steve has flipped from private to public and back.

I should have qualified my link to Steve, noting, that he now limits to friends.

So how to cite a reference made in a semi restricted forum? Does one cite or simply describe?
