Every webpage is a latent community. Each page collects the attention of people interested in its contents, and those people might well be interested in conversing with one another, too. p. 133

Many library users want to have conversations about collections. Until very recently the outlet for these conversations was only available on non-library web sites. Part of what held libraries back from enabling this was technology but a bit part was attitude. Were librarians ready to embrace and enable contributions by our users. Could we trust them?
