More Words, Less Read - Users Only Read 20% of the Words on a Page

When writing for the web, be brief.

Here's why brevity matters. Jakob Nielsen analyzed 59,573 page views and found a pattern explained "users' reading behavior for pages containing between 30 and 1,250 words."

Users read "50% of the words on pages with 111 words or less". (How Little Do Users Read?)

Users do spend more time on longer pages, but only read 18 words of each additional 100 new words added.

[This post is 94 words. I hope you read 1/2 of them. :-) ]
