YouTomb - YouTube Copyright Takedown Watchdog
YouTomb is a research project monitoring videos taken down by YouTube for alleged copyright infringement. YouTomb was built by MIT Free Culture, a student organization at MIT.
YouTomb captures the metadata for the videos including any information on the reason for take-down "including who issued the complaint and how long the video was up before takedown."
YouTomb creators state that they wanted to track how YouTube identifies possible violations based on a special algorithm in order to spot aggregate mistakes made by the algorithm. For example, are mistakes made or videos that meet fair use exemptions flagged.
