Born in Weyburn, Mr. Mitchell is perhaps best-known for his radio series “Jake and the Kid” and his book “Who Has Seen the Wind?” A teacher and author, he has received numerous awards in recognition of his literary ability including the Stephan Leacock Medal for humor. Appointed the University of Calgary’s first writer-in-residence in 1968, he is now at the U of Alberta writing and teaching.
