Whether you’re an art student digitizing large works of art or historian preserving fragile documents the Digital Research Centre (DRC) has you covered. In this workshop, we will introduce one of our scanning technologies – the Quartz A0 oversize scanner. This planetary scanner ensures superior image quality for various (type, quality, and sized) documents – including artworks, newspapers, maps, plans etc. Its design, an HD camera set on a mechanized plate, also ensures the safekeeping of fragile documents by minimizing contact points. DRC staff will provide workshop attendees with information on how to use the scanner and on how to book times to use the scanner at their own convenience.
About the DRC: Our goal is to make research, art, and cultural works more accessible and useful. We work with scholars, graduate students, and the community to digitize and describe cultural and research content for long-term accessibility.
