Safe Study at the Murray Library

During Safe Study, the ground floor of the Murray Library is open after the rest of the library closes for student study space. The Safe Study program is a partnership between the USSU and the Murray Library and is available to students of all colleges.

Safe Study Hours 

During the Fall 2017 Term, normal Safe Study hours will run from September 17th to November 27th, with the exception of the November Reading Week and statutory holidays. 24/7 Safe Study will run from November 28th to December 22nd.

Normal Safe Study Hours during Fall and Winter terms:

Sunday - Thursday

11 pm to 1 am

Friday - Saturday

9 pm to 12 am

Safe Study Information

Access to the space after normal library hours is restricted to students bringing their current U of S Student Card

Safe Study can accommodate up to 200 users and operates in association with the ‘Student Crew’ and other USSU programs, including Safewalk. Students from all colleges are welcome to use Safe Study and the resources and facilities in the Murray Library.  Available in the space are:

    • 8 Bookable group study rooms
    • Quiet study room (Room G3)
    • Individual and group seating
    • 18 Learning Commons computers
    • 2 Alumni computers
    • 1 public access Internet only computer 
    • Black & White/Colour Printer/Photocopier/Scanner
    • Wireless Internet access
    • Electrical and data outlets
    • Phone charging station
    • Access to the Assistive Technology Room (for students registered with AES)
