High School Art on Display

Have you noticed the new works of art hanging on the walls and pillars of the first floor of the Murray Library?

Have you noticed the new works of art hanging on the walls and pillars of the first floor of the Murray Library? These art pieces are being displayed as part of a new partnership between the University Library, SESD Undergraduate Recruitment, and local Saskatoon high schools.

Students from the visual arts program at Oskayak High School were the first ones invited to produce artwork for the library. Each of their 14 pieces has been framed, and the artists' profiles were written by the students themselves. These art pieces will remain in the library until the end of December 2016. The expectation is that next Fall, another high school art department will be approached and invited to submit art for the same time next year.

Congratulations to the Oskayak students for all their hard work! Their art helps to make the Murray Library a more beautiful and welcoming place.
