Tell Us: Noisy Law Library Study Rooms

The law library study room has absolutely ZERO sound absorbing capacity and it is very hard to study if you are sitting anywhere close to the room and people are talking inside it.

Your Comment

The law library study room has absolutely ZERO sound absorbing capacity and it is very hard to study if you are sitting anywhere close to the room and people are talking inside it. Kindly either shut down the room temporarily or improve the sound absorption. When people study there, it distracts the whole first floor of the library.

Our Response

We hear you loud and clear.

Unfortunately, the Law Library’s new main floor group study room, with room for six and modern technology, is not as sound proof as we had hoped. We appreciate the Law Library’s reputation as a quiet place to study and understand the frustration this is causing. We have space design experts inspecting the room this week to recommend the best methods to significantly reduce the sound coming from the study rooms. We plan to move as quickly as possible to implement their recommendations.
