Explore the history of Treaty education in Saskatchewan

New Exhibit in the Education & Music

This exhibit is part of the Education & Music Library’s response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s 2015 Calls to Action. The TRC call to action #62 calls for the creation of “age-appropriate curriculum on residential schools, treaties and aboriginal peoples’ historical and contemporary contributions to Canada.”

The intent of this exhibit is to showcase a broad range of resources which can be used to teach elementary and secondary school students about the historical context and importance of First Nations’ treaties and treaty education in Saskatchewan.

Curators: MaryLynn Gagné & Tina Leckie

Location: Education & Music Library

The exhibit, Solemn promises: Treaty education in Saskatchewan, will run until the end of December 2017.
