Take a Break at the Library this December

Final exams are coming, but make sure to take a break.

The University Library has you covered when you're studying for final exams. We have many resources available to support you:

At the University Library, we recognize that there are different learning styles as well as a variety of approaches to research and studying. In order to accommodate everyone who wants to use the library, we have established a variety of different types of spaces across our seven locations on campus. Whether you need open space to talk to study partners or silent space for maximum focus, the University Library has the perfect location for your needs. Take time to explore and find your new favourite study spot.

As you’re working hard in preparation for finals, be sure to Take a Break at the Library.

Take a break

All library locations (with the exception of the quiet Vet Med Library) will have activity spaces where you can take a break from studying. These spaces are drop-in, casual and fun. There will be Play-Doh, crafts, puzzles, LEGO, and more to help you to relax and refocus before getting back to the books.

Take note of these Take a Break dates:

  • Education and Music Library: Dec 1-20
  • Engineering Library: Dec 10-20
  • Law Library: Dec 5-20
  • Leslie and Irene Dubé Health Sciences Library: Dec 3-19
  • Murray Library: Dec 8-20
  • Science Library: Dec 8-20
  • Veterinary Medicine Library: Dec 1-20

Have a snack

In partnership with the USask Alumni Association, all libraries on campus will be giving out snacks throughout final exams (with the exception of the Science Library which is always food-free. Juice boxes will be available there instead). Take a break to refuel so you can tackle even the toughest exam. Keep an eye out for alumni volunteers handing out complimentary snacks and refreshments. Also, make sure to read the words of encouragement from USask alumni on the screens throughout the library.

Cookie decorating day!

On Thursday, December 6, visit one of our participating libraries to decorate and enjoy a free sugar cookie. Cookies will be available (while supplies last) at the following libraries: Education & Music, Engineering and Murray.
