This academic internship (unpaid) introduces arts and science undergraduates to professional librarianship, with an emphasis on an academic library setting. Interns participate in seminar discussions as well as appropriate, meaningful work in order to advance projects in the University Library while earning course credit.
The course typically consists of a seminar on Tuesdays from 10-11:20 am (which includes guest lecturers and student presentations) and approximately 70 hours of site work under the supervision of a workplace supervisor. In 2021 the internship will be offered remotely if the university continues to operate primarily online.
Pre-requisites: 60 credits and permission from the instructor.
