Celebrating Indigenous Achievement Week

The Indigenous Storyteller-in-Residence pilot program concludes with a special performance by Lindsay “Eekwol” Knight.

Over the last six weeks as the Indigenous Storyteller-in-Residence, Knight has engaged with the USask community through telling her own story and connecting with the experiences exchanged with her. Knight describes these virtual storytelling sessions that focused on the theme of cultural identity as “producing amazing reflections and moments of clarity”.

In a one-of-a-kind event on Feb. 3, 2021 during USask’s Indigenous Achievement Week, Knight will share reflections on her time as the University Library’s Indigenous Storyteller-in-Residence. An award-winning hip-hop artist, Knight will perform original songs, detailing the story and inspiration behind them, highlighting the theme of identity.

She will also share three “stories behind the story” based on the stories exchanged during the virtual coffee talk sessions.
