Scott, founder of the Vancouver-based Progressive Workers Movement, examines the Riel Resistance of 1885 from labour's viewpoint. In his brief chapter, he argues that the working class was in opposition to the government's official policy. His account is based entirely on one source, The Palladium of Labour, a Hamilton working class journal of the 1880s. Even though the research is superficial, this is the only account of the Resistance from a working class perspective.
