Dale Amerud B. Comm., MBA, CPA, CMA Strategic Business Advisor, Finance

Before joining the University of Saskatchewan in 1997, Dale was the Assistant Director of Finance for LutherCare Communities of Saskatoon. Dale received his Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1985 and his Master of Business Administration degree in 1991, both from the U of S. He later became a Chartered Professional Accountant in 2004.

Dale joined the University Library as Director in 2011 to provide leadership and expertise in overseeing the comprehensive Library finance portfolio and advising on the direction of related financial activities. This position is accountable for the associated planning, monitoring, reporting, and management functions, including the interrelated policies, controls, systems and processes. The Director, Finance & Operations is the expert on resource allocation (TABBS) and a key contributor to ensuring the resource plan to support the Library is developed and executed. He provides expertise to the Library’s senior leadership about space allocation and renovation including overseeing the capital budget, spearheading annual capital projects, ongoing building maintenance matters, and continual refurbishment plans. He is also responsible, as the chair of the Safety Committee, in partnership with Safety Resources, for ensuring all processes and procedures are in place, and risks are mitigated to ensure the safety and security of employees, visitors, collections, and facilities for all library locations. He also holds overall accountability for the administrative service operations of the Dean’s Office.
