Library Research Skills workshops are led by Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) peer mentors: students just like you, who want to share their knowledge of how to navigate the library effectively. Workshops, and other learning opportunities, focus on critical points of the research cycle including:

  • choosing a research topic
  • brainstorming research questions
  • narrowing and broadening a research topic
  • searching strategically for information
  • understanding various information sources (e.g., peer reviewed sources, primary/secondary sources, etc.)
  • evaluating information sources
  • participating ethically in scholarly conversations (e.g., academic integrity, avoiding plagiarism, etc.)
