Dr. Nicholas J. Carino B.S., M.A., Ph.D

Eminent Chancellor, on behalf of the Senate I present to you Doctor Nicholas Carino. I am delighted to have the honour of introducing Dr. Carino to our campus community today. As we present him with the highest honour our university can bestow. Dr. Nicholas Carino is a structural engineer who is recognized globally in his expertise in concrete technology. he has been a major contributor in setting building codes and standards used around the world. There is no doubt his work has led to a safer and higher quality concrete construction. Dr.

Don Seaman

Don Seaman was born in Rouleau, Sask., in 1925, to parents who encouraged their four children to take advantage of educational opportunities. Like his two brothers, Doc and B.J., he pursued a degree in mechanical engineering at USask, graduating in 1947.

W. Eric L. Grimson B.Sc., Ph.D

W. Eric L. Grimson, the Bernard M. Gordon Professor of Medical Engineering and Professor of Computer Science and Engineering, has served as the chancellor for academic advancement at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology since fall 2013. As one of the institute's senior academic officers, Professor Grimson is a central advisor to President Rafael Reif on the institute’s fundraising campaign's shape and strategy, and serves as his representative to alumni, parents, students and Institute partners.

Rajat M. Nag B. Tech, M.Sc., M.B.A., M.Sc.(Econ)

Asia is a continent of contrasts. It is home to two-thirds of the world's poor while boasting a fast growing number of billionaires. An increasingly richer continent is also becoming more inequitable. Based on his work in international development for the past three decades, Rajat Nag has forcefully brought this issue of the "Two Faces of Asia” into the development debate.
Mr. Nag is deeply committed to issues of equity, justice and rights, particularly gender related. He firmly believes that good governance is a key ingredient of sound development.

Ron Graham

Mr. Ron Graham graduated in 1962 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan. That same year he joined the family construction business, P.W. Graham & Sons Ltd. in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Over the next twenty years, the company grew to nine offices in Western Canada and the USA.

In 1978, Ron was appointed President and CEO of the company and in 1985, after nearly sixty years of family ownership, employees joined forces with the Graham family to form Graham Construction and Engineering (1985) Ltd.

Donald J. Listwin B.E.

Don Listwin was born and raised in Saskatoon and attended Evan Hardy Collegiate. He entered the College of Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan in September 1976. While at university he played Huskie Volleyball in the 1976-80 seasons. When on the team the University of Saskatchewan Huskies won two Canada West titles and a CIAU National Championship in 1978/79. He graduated from the College of Engineering in 1980 with a B.E. in Electrical Engineering and he credits Mr. Jerry Huff, a professor in the College of Engineering, with introducing him to his chosen field. Richard L. Ehman

Richard Ehman, a native of Saskatchewan, graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with High Honours in Physics in 1974 and Great Distinction in Medicine in 1979. From 1979 to 1983 he completed his internship and residency through the University of Calgary at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Alberta.

Elvie Laurence Smith BEng, MEng

Elvie L. Smith was born in Eatonia, Saskatchewan. He graduated from the Department of Mechanical Engineering with Great Distinction in 1947. He went on to earn the Master of Science in Engineering degree from Purdue University in 1949. After graduation he spent seven years with the National Research Council as a Research Engineer. His research centered on gas turbine projects including the effect on airplane performance of applying anti-icing systems to propulsion engines and to thrust boosting of gas turbine engines by after-burning.

A. Wayne Clifton B.E., M.Eng., P.Eng.

Mr. Wayne Clifton is a resident of Regina and is Senior Principal of Clifton Associates Ltd., consulting civil and geotechnical engineers, established in 1978. Prior to the formation of Clifton Associates Ltd. he served in the military. He worked as an engineer for two consulting companies and the Saskatchewan Department of Highways. He has also been an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan for several years.
