Japanese postcards collected by Dr. Hans Gruen, professor emeritus of biology at the University of Saskatchewan.

This project displays a selection of postcards from Dr. Hans Gruen's collection of nearly 4,000 postcards related to Japan. The postcards date from 1900 to 1930 and include landscape views, scenes of the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923, trades and occupations, and women and children.

The digital project was created in 2001 and archived in 2020. It is not being updated and is not formatted for mobile browsers.
