Postcard Views of the Qu'Appelle Valley

...is an exhibit of souvenir images depicting communities in Saskatchewan's picturesque Qu'Appelle Valley, drawn from the large collection of early Western Canadian postcards developed by the University Archives and Special Collections, University of Saskatchewan.

Most of the cards were printed in the first two decades of the 20th century which was the Golden Age of the picture postcard. Locations depicted include Fort Qu'Appelle, Indian Head, Lebret, Lumsden, and more.

This site was prepared in 2001 in conjunction with the exhibition "Qu'Appelle: Tales of Two Valleys" produced by Saskatoon's Mendel Gallery for presentation in Kleinberg, ON, Saskatoon and Regina.
