At the beginning of the 20th century there was renewed interest in the printed book as art form. In 1920 the Golden Cockerel Press was established to publish new books by young authors. They used woodcut engravings to create beautifully printed editions of books.
This site contains a listing of the books in theUniversity Library's catalogue as well as historical information about the press.
The exhibit was curated by Jon Bath and Craig Harkema in 2008.
