The University Library invites you to join us in celebrating our province’s history at 3:00 pm on Thursday, February 21, 2013 on the 1st floor of the Murray Library.
On display are a wide variety of materials that help to inform our understanding of Saskatchewan’s early history, including immigration brochures, postcards, early newspapers, local history books and event posters. As well, the exhibition features some of the most famous Saskatchewan-themed literature, books on the origins of place name, historical maps, tourism brochures and archival items such as the original handwritten manuscript “Minutes of the Temperance Colony Pioneer Society (Saskatoon, 1884).
Viewing begins at 3:00 and a short program will commence at 3:30 pm with guest speaker Dr. Merle Massie, followed by musical guests Carolyn Doi (piano) and Sonia Reid (voice) performing a few songs from the Saskatchewan Music Collection. Refreshments will be served.
