University Archives and Special Collections (UASC) is scheduled for some construction work starting on Wednesday, April 26th that is expected to last about six weeks.

During this construction, all research visits – even a quick stop to look at a book – will need to be by appointment. Please contact ua.sc@usask.ca. You can also leave a message at 306-966-6029.

While we welcome appointments during this time, please note that the main door to our reading room will not be available. Staff will need to escort researchers through the stacks any time you enter or exit the reading room.

As the construction will be taking place immediately adjacent to the reading room, we apologize for the noise.

We also continue to offer online reference services, providing digital copies of materials to the extent possible.

This construction is part of the first phase of major renovations in Murray Library, including a complete overhaul of the 5th floor as the new home for University Archives and Special Collections. The upcoming construction focuses on the addition of “waterfall” windows. Read more in On Campus News.

Please feel free to contact UASC with any questions or requests. We will be happy to facilitate your research as best as we can during this first construction period and look forward to being able to serve you in brand new space!
