Abstract:
A captured American pilot in Ninh Binh was able to maintain communications with other aircraft in the area. When these aircraft began strafing he was able to escape into the nearby woods in the resultant confusion . He was picked up by a helicopter shortly thereafter. Another downed pilot in the Co Dinh area was also rescued by a helicopter.
