Cadres and soldiers of North Vietnamese Regiment --- are beginning to turn against the Viet Cong because of insufficient food and rest, homesickness, and the fact that they are exploited in every way possble while healthy, but when sick receive little medicine or attention. They feign serious illness to aviod fighting and want to desert; however, although they have heard about the "Chieu Hoi" program, they do not know what it is about and how it operates. In addition, they are also confused by the Viet Cong propaganda against the program.
