Abstract:
In the South Vietnam Delta Provinces of the IV CTZ, the Viet Cong (VC) are unable to replace their heavy personnel losses, with casualties and desertions exceeding the inflow of new recruits. The Government of Vietnam (GVN) position has been improved under IV Corps commander Thang and there have been basic improvements in the Vietnamese Army (ARVN) itself. Curfew has denied VC units entry into the cities at night. Civil defense has improved. The war in IV Corps is twice as intense as it was before Tet and the GVN has the initiative.
