Survey done by Communist Chinese embassy in Paris showed widespread French and all Southeast Asian (except Thailand) opposition to US policy in Vietnam. North Vietnam was ready to fight US imperialists "for centuries" if necessary, but still feared that US would bomb Hanoi.
