Abstract:
In early August 1969 Viet Cong (VC) units in Bo Kheo and Bo Kham, Ratanakiri, had buried sharpened bamboo stakes in dense grass several kilometers along the Cambodian/South Vietnam border to counter landing of paratroopers. Cambodian Army (FARK) units had launched several attacks against these VC/Khmer Rouge units since January which had been unsuccessful due to casualties inflicted by poisonous arrows used by the enemy and difficult terrain.
