- 1994 – First Aboriginal MBA program established
- 1995 – Chief Harry LaFond of the Muskeg Lake First Nation is appointed to the University’s Board of Governors
- 1995 – Ernest Mike, Daniel Musqua awarded honorary degrees
- 1996 – Kinesiology offers a sports camp for inner city youth
- 1997 – Freda Ahenakew awarded an honorary degree
- 1998 – Aboriginal Justice & Criminology Program established
- 1999 – “Super Saturday” program for Aboriginal children, a joint project with the Saskatoon Tribal Council
- 2001 – JR Miller named the Canada Research Chair in Native-Newcomer Relations
- 2001 – Native-Newcomer discussion group established
- 2002 - Special Advisor to the President on Aboriginal Initiatives position created
- 2003 - George Lafond named Special Advisor to the President on Aboriginal Initiatives

- 2007 - Joan Greyeyes named Special Advisor the President on Aboriginal Initiatives
